Founded by Jeremy Bell, former partner at Teehan & Lax, Wattage is a company that “makes the act of building hardware not so hard”. We are very interested to see this when it officially launches. Apparently you design the unit online through your browser – no special software needed – and then they figure out all the electronic stuff for you depending on what you want your unit to do. There’s still some coding required as it’s uses the Arduino C language, but a great starting point for people who want to create their own physical products.

The possibilities are endless really. There’s no list of the available sensors and such yet, but more details will flow out over time. Now to start planning our device to blast out rock anthems every time we get a new follower and animate the headbanger emoji…
