Rounding up a trilogy of illustrator micro features this week is Tom Froese. He’s an illustrator based in Vancouver, BC. The great thing about Tom’s work is the energy he brings to each piece. We’re reminded of Saturday morning cartoons (in the best possible way) and the iconic work of UPA animation studio. Another signature of Tom’s work is the combination of flat graphic shapes, almost like cut-out paper, that’s layered with simple black brush strokes. These lines breathe life into each piece.
And we can’t forget Tom’s lettering which is scattered throughout his work. It’s rough and ready and full of character. Keep an eye out for it.
