Design Thinkers branding 2015
Graphic Design is hard. And then sometimes it’s really hard. In fact sometimes materials conspire against you and you have to pull together as a team and get the job done. What this usually results in, is a body of work that is greater because of the suffering and anguish.
This is what happened with Overdrive’s latest work for the RGD Design Thinkers conference held annually in Toronto. When the die cut portion of the project didn’t quiet work out, Overdrive manually poked the unremoved die cut pieces with toothpicks… all 960,000 of them. It’s a testament to the passion and love they have for their craft.
The whole branding for this years Design Thinker was excellent – a perfect merging of data and form. The print items were beautifully handled and Overdrive made lots of smart design decisions. And to top it all off, they created a wonderful installation / sculpture, which became one of the focal parts of the whole identity.
Overdrive have put together a fantastic walkthrough of the whole design on a Behance page which you can see here with lots of behind the scenes videos. Check it out.
