It’s no secret that at HeyThere our favourite aspect of design is typography and typefaces. Riley Cran – co-founder of The Lost Type Co-Op and designer in Vancouver released a real peach of a font earlier this year. Moriston is a typeface with a lot of character and a lot of contrast. I’m reminded of early grotesques from the wood type era. Anyone lucky enough to have hand set some of this stuff (we were) will see the influence immediately. Apparently the spark that got the font going was the logo on an old bicycle. Moriston is available to download over at The Lost Type Co-Op. It supports over 200 languages.
