Wow, some beautiful work here. Mark is an illustrator based in the small town of Waterdown, Ontario. He uses scratchboard as his preferred method of creating his pieces. And he does them extremely well. Most of his work seems to be editorial with magazines like Rolling Stone regularly commissioning illustrations of musicians from him. His work is largely classical in style, even his caricatures have victorian sensibilities to them. But Mark injects new life into this technique by using dramatic lighting and compositions. An old technique can seem so fresh in the right hands. Also check out his sketchbook work which is also stunning.
