We just discovered the beautiful work of Jacqui Oakley. This lady has talent – lots of it. We are loving the energetic illustrations. She was born in Canada but lived a good part of her life in England, Zambia, Bahrain and Libya.
She’s worked for all the big ones… The New York Times, Rolling Stone, National Geographic and The Financial Times to name a few. Jacqui also finds the time to teach at OCAD University in downtown Toronto.
Her work has explosive colour palettes and we can’t help but be reminded a little of the NY outfit and collage specialists Faile. She seems equally adept at illustration as she is with lettering. All her letterforms are unabashedly hand rendered giving them a uniquely honest appeal.
