If there is one studio that can really claim “multi-disciplinary” it’s Jacknife. A studio specializing in both branding and industrial design. Jacknife formed when three Toronto studios merged — AmoebaCorp, Apparatus Inc. and Oxygen Design Agency. They do it all essentially. Branding, packaging, product design, installations and environments. And they do it well. It’s seems this blended environment allows their designers to explore the limits of their creativity as they can get access to other knowledge that would otherwise be at a separate agency. This is particularly evident in the environmental and retail design work they do which is a culmination of branding and 3 dimensional objects like signage etc. Great stuff.
