Brock is an illustrator from Nova Scotia. Erin Martin pointed us in his direction (thanks!).
Words don’t really do justice to Brock’s illustration work – it’s really the type of stuff you have to see to understand. It’s got a healthy dash of Ed Roth in there, with some major comic book and heavy metal influences. It merges the worlds of horror, psychedelica, fantasy, sci-fi and satire.
You may not even like the style (we love it!) but the craft in each piece is breathtaking. Brock’s choice to use heavily saturated colours do lend his pieces a comic element, leaving the viewer entertained rather than disgusted.
Having said that… we prefer his single colour work – which because they are only one colour – causes the illustrations to slowly reveal themselves to you. You have to work a little harder to decode the images and find all the treats hidden within.
