Normally branding exercises like this can be a little bit of a train wreck – Government agencies rarely interact with designers and studios in a professional and respectful manner (we are looking directly at you Canada 150…). However B.C. show that good vision and a thoughtful approach can yield great results. It’s not perfect by any means and the font could do with a little bit more variation in the letterforms but we’d mark this one down as very successful. Brand new did a write up on it which you can read here, and for very detailed info on the project visit here.
No design agency is credited, but hopefully it was a B.C. one or a Canadian agency at the very least.
P.S. If you like these interlocking typefaces we recommend you look at the branding work done for the Glasgow School of Art for an excellent example.
